The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons


	Saturday, February 1, 2014: The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula stopped at Maucieri's Italian Restaurant on the south side of Crosslake as a starting point for an annual festival in that town.

	It was the Crosslake Winterfest where soup was given away at eleven locations. This one was the Army Corps of Engineers' dam site on the south side of Crosslake. Mark and Paula voted for them in the People's Choice Amateur division this year. They were a winner last year and this year with soup cooked in a pot over an open fire.

	Water below the dam is open even in sub-zero temperatures. Plenty of fires around to keep people warm that day.

	Who could be cold with a warm fire nearby? A great winter day event.

	Chicken pot pie soup was a real hit in the at Manhattan Beach Lodge. They won the People's Choice Culinary award this year. Great stuff.

	There were snowmobile time runs and car races on ice that day too. Lots of fun for everyone.
