               The Gilbert Lodge Blog from Brainerd, MN, USA
July 29, 2006:  Paula traded her PT Cruiser for a 2006 Buick Rendezvous.  Because of the cappuccino color, we have named it "Creampuff."  The car was purchased from salesman Gary Olson at Mills Motors in Brainerd, MN.  The "Lodge Car" or the "Gilbert Lodge Lodge Limousine" as it is sometimes called, has all-wheel drive and gets 23 miles per gallon of gas.  Good going, Paula!  

 

 

 



A closer look at the rig.

Amateur Radio visitors to Gilbert Lodge will appreciate the Lodge Car center radio console, which includes an Icom IC-207 2 meter/440 Transceiver.  It is above the cup holders and to the upper right of the hand-held microphone.  What you see is the control head for the radio.  It is on an angled mount in what used to be the ash tray. 

Once at Gilbert Lodge, guests have full access to the HF/VHF/UHF Ham Station.
