Friday, April 12, 2013:  

Mark and Paula headed out by car on this snowy day. 

Where are they going?

 
Well, they made it to Duluth, Minnesota, after a limited-visibility trip, and then the weather cleared up.

The shipping canal was choked with ice temporarily preventing boat traffic at the famous Aerial Lift Bridge.

This is an international cargo port.

 
Mark and Paula dined at Bellisio's Italian Restaurant near the waterfront.

Mark is 3/4 Swedish and 1/4 German, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying Italian food.

It was Mark's 66th birthday.  No he is not retired yet!

Mark was born in Duluth and returns as often as he can.
