The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

August 13, 2010:  The weather started out rainy in the morning.  Gilbert Lodge received a half inch of rain that day.  The wild flowers and trees loved it.  A bucket, which Deep Diver Paula pulled up from a local lake, is used to catch and hold some water.

A closer look at that bucket catching rainwater.
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train pulled through Brainerd from the west heading east at sunset.  Trains horns are heard in town often.  They are heard day and night and have a reassuring sound.

At dinner time, Chef Paula served Coho Salmon from the Bar-B-Q on the Promenade Deck at Gilbert Lodge.  She used a few secret spices to enhance the flavor.  Locally grown sweet corn went well with the dish along with strawberries and a plum.

Quote of the day:  If you don't like the weather in Minnesota, then just wait ten minutes.    Mark < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
