The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Sunday, January 10, 2016:  Sunrise over San Antonio, Texas.  The city awakens.

Then it was off to the Natural Bridge Caverns for an underground tour.

Huge underground caverns.  You can see people in the photo if you look carefully.

Nicely lit stalagmites....about 25 feet tall.

Then the Duo stopped at the Mission San Jose.  Yes, they were "deep in the heart of Texas" where Spanish missions with churches were the population centers.

Spanish Catholic monks came to this new world to convert natives to modern civilization with mixed results.

Nice architecture on the back side of the mission.

Mark and Paula headed to the Market Square that night for genuine Mexican food.

Refried beans and everything.  The whole enchilada!

Minnesotans don't normally eat like that.

There's another sign post up ahead.  What does this mean?

Quote of the day:    Tex-Mex is a whole new diet for me.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
