         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Tuesday, May 5, 2015:  It was Cinco de Mayo Day. This is a Mexican holiday celebrating the Mexican American defeat of the French in 1862. 


Chef Paula

 Mexican General Toribio Ortega Remirez would be honored to know that Chef Paula served his taco sauce on this special occasion.
Yes, there was a warm fire burning in the Grand Fireplace at Gilbert Lodge, much like the General would have had while enjoying a taco. 
 
Of course, no dinner could be complete without dinner mints.

That it what it took to cool off the mouths of guests that night.

A fitting end for the meal.
