The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Friday, February 27, 2015:  Mark and Paula headed east on Highway 210.
They spotted this coal train east from Aitkin, headed toward Duluth on this sunny day.

Soon the Dynamic Duo found themselves at Bayfield, Wisconsin, along the south shore of Lake Superior.

What intrigued them was an ice road between Bayfield and Madeline Island, some two miles away.

Yes, other vehicles were using it in spite of warning signs.

Once on the island, there were dozens of boats awaiting spring.
This is a busy place during the summer months.

Mark and Paula headed back south and east a bit to Ashland, Wisconsin, also on the south shore of Lake Superior.
More boats were on shore waiting until the lake ice melts.
Sunset was approaching with long shadows and orange color was glinting off their masts.

Sunset that night gave brilliant orange color to the sky as its light cascaded over frozen Lake Superior.

They checked into Hotel Chequamegon, a well known quality place.

It has a classic lobby with the feel of one-hundred years ago.
It has a quality staff too.

Hmmm...Paula was in her room using a tablet computer to check out a few things.

What is she planning?

Stay tuned to this blog.

Story of the Day:  A minister realized he was overweight.  So, he asked a doctor what to do about it.  The doctor said, "Eat less and exercise more."  The minister stepped on his bathroom scale the next morning and said, "It looks like I need to exercise!"

Quote of the day:    I'm interested to find out what Paula is planning too.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
